creating a select dropdown from a multiple choice structure
  • How do I create a select dropdown inside a v:create tag?
    This would insert data into a multiple choice structure.

    <v:create path="subscriptions" flash="flash" id="subscribeForm">

    <label for="email">Email</label>
    <v:text_field name="email" id="email" />

    <label for="name">Name</label>
    <v:text_field name="name" id="name" />

    <label for="zip_code">Zip Code</label>
    <v:text_field name="zip_code" id="zip_code" />

    <v:select path="age" />

    <v:collection path="subscriptions">
    <v:select path="age" />
    </v:collection>

    <input type="submit" />

    </v:create>

  • I'm not sure what you're trying to do with the subscriptions collection there.

    You can do:

    <v:select path="age" options="18-21,22-25,26-39,40-49,50+" />

    Or:

    <v:select path="age">
    <v:collection path="ages">
    <option value="<v->"><v=age></option>
    </v:collection>
    </v:select>

    Does that make sense?

  • There should be a way for Vae to detect the options of a multiple choice structure and use them to create a select dropdown, I don't think the solution you are offering does this.

  • Correct, there is currently no way to detect the options of a multiple choice structure. Since they're both hardcoded by developers, this shouldn't be a problem.
