Here be questions and here be answers.
After starting my local vae server using 'vae -u username' and entering my password I visit http://localhost:9999 and in the terminal I see Segmentation fault: 11 and the process terminates.File won't upload, so here's a link.http://cl.ly/1c0C3B390x0Y2F2S1g1z
Followed these instructions and everything is working now.http://jalada.co.uk/2011/07/24/lion-rvm-and-ruby-1-8-7-woes.html
Oh, this happens even before I make a request.
Haven't seen this one before. What version of OS X are you on? Are you using Fink, MacPorts, or Homebrew or any other form of nonstandard libraries?
10.7.2 and I'm using homebrew. I'm also using rvm. I'm using ruby 1.9.2 everywhere but the vae setup mentioned using ruby 1.8.7 so switched to that there. However, I also just tried using 1.9.2 and got this output when I make a request (not before).http://cl.ly/3g2s3z3j3t1l0U3h022KI've installed via the OSX installation app.
In an effort to see what was up with mongrel I tried to install the gem, but it seems to have some 1.9+ issues. So I did as suggested and installed with the --pre flag which worked fine. However the error on request is still happening.
And when you force it to use the System Ruby, you get the segfault? Or is that with 1.8.7 that came with rvm?
I get segfault with 1.8.7
PS, when I type my pass in wrong I also get** Error:/usr/local/vae/vae_local/lib/vae.rb:173:in `+': can't convert VaeError into String (TypeError)When I go to that line it readsputs " " + eSo I called .to_s on that e and that works fine now.
Awesome! Thanks for providing that.
We use rbenv over here so that's why we probably never ran into this.
