Content Tab - Search Options?

    In the Content Tab, is there a way to make search results display an item whose child collection matches the search term? Basically we want the admin user to be able to search an inventory code for an option on a product in the top-level shop collection.

    The child item itself should show in the search results. Then they can click onto it and browse upward in the navigation bar.

    That's not working for us. Could it be because the inventory codes have forward slashes in them?
